Arissa Chua recently shared on her Facebook post about her horrible experience with a lorry service. She was moving out to start a new life in her new home and it is not an easy ordeal especially when you have a home full of furniture!
So Arissa found a company called “Abang Lorry” through Facebook Ads that seemed reliable to her. The website convinced her to use their services. Unfortunately, the journey wasn’t smooth at all and she would soon realise that the company wasn’t professional.
This is her story!
Some Issues With My Experience
-
The price quoted was totally different from what you needed to pay at the end of the day.
They quoted RM250 for my request for a one-tonne lorry for a 35 km journey. They also included a service in which I would have 2 helpers to load and unload the items. At the time, I thought it was a good deal!
When it came to the actual day, the lorry that came wasn’t what I requested… it was a five-tonne lorry instead!
When I asked why this was changed without my knowledge, the driver told me that they had another job after this one which required this lorry size. It would be convenient for them as they wouldn’t have to change lorries, so I proceeded without asking more.
But that’s where the drama began…
-
I was told that my belongings were at capacity, twice…
To clarify, I was requesting to move a 9.5kg washing machine, a 6ft vanity mirror, a bar table with two stools, a king-size mattress and about five to six boxes that had small items packed in them.
After they were done loading the big items, they told me that the storage for a one-tonne lorry had been filled. All that was left was five to six boxes.

So we discussed this further, and the driver asked me to upgrade to a two-tonne lorry. I had already informed my resident’s management about my move, so I didn’t have the time to find a different lorry service.
I was ready to simply agree to this and so I asked the driver what the new price was, to which he replied, “Double lah!”

“Aku pun redha lah time tu kan.”
So he started loading the rest of my things but he stopped again and told me now the two-tonne capacity is filled. He was suggesting that I upgraded my storage once again. At this point, I’ve had it.
I told him off, saying “you can’t do this to me lah. How do you expect me to know that the space is filled when you’re the one bringing a five-tonne lorry?”

I reported the driver but all I got was more arguing…
We were causing quite a commotion now and he started shouting at me. I decided to report him to the admin of “Abang Lorry” and even the admin was snobbish and rude to me.
After more arguments, he finally agreed to just unload my belongings from the lorry and then he’d leave just like that!
I decided to bring my dissatisfaction to the internet and that’s when the story went viral. They decided to take action against me and tried to show people screenshots of the Whatsapp conversation between the admin and myself. They even did a police report.
Just Another Victim Of Theirs…
I will still stand by my case.
There have been multiple bad reviews of them anyways. I’m just here to share my unfortunate story so others may learn from this.

They should just admit their mistake and apologise, rather than counter back with unreasonable accusations.
