It’s 2022, and there are still people finding pleasure in putting people down.
Just yesterday, I stumbled across a post by a Facebook user by the name of Jack Kee. He shared an image of what looked like an unaware woman.
OP did not censor their faces when posting the image. However, IRL blurred the eyes of the people in this image to protect their identity.
He posted the picture in a Chinese Facebook group that has a total of 683,000 members with a sarcastic caption saying,
“My girlfriend asked me to buy undergarments for her. I’m not good at it. So, I’d like to ask the gentlemen and ladies here, which sized cup should I get for her?”
Men came trolling about her body type
“Instead of a bra, should buy her more collagen instead,” Chin Chee Kar poked, insinuating that the collagen will firm up her shape more.
“Is that due to not wearing a bra at home too often?” another one jeered.
What’s more disgusting: Most insults came from women
“Her breasts are so small and yet it’s sagging to her waist already,” Eunice posted in the comments.
“She should borrow a bra from her mom instead,” JoEe wrote, to which Jack replied, “Don’t you mean borrow it from her grandma?”
“Today the stock market has been volatile. Just found out it’s because of this issue,” Ahh Qii wrote.
Is her body something to be made fun about?
No. Breast shapes vary from woman to woman. AND they are ALL beautiful.
While scientifically there’s no absolute number, some websites would cite that there are up to 27 different types of boobs. Yes, and that’s what makes us all special and unique as human-beings.
The act of shaming others a reflection of your own insecurities
Most people resort to body shaming as a go-to defense of their own insecurities. Putting other people down makes themselves feel better, and thus they do it consistently to push their own egos up.
It’s a vicious cycle especially when a majority of the people they surround themselves with practices the same toxicity. Like how this disgusting post is being fueled with equally disgusting comments.
Women should support women, instead of breaking each other down
Instead of feeding into one’s jealousy or insecurities, we need to move past and appreciate each other for our own beauty.
Empower and stand up for each other. Teach the ignorant ones how body shaming is wrong.
Forget about the toxic Asian upbringing and unrealistic media portrayals of beauty. Life’s already hard enough without having strangers secretly taking photos of your body to be posted on a public forum.
