In the age of social media, Malaysia has no shortage of people willing to publicize their outrageous antics for their 15 seconds of internet fame.
Case in point, one such person is a woman named Alice Chang, who has now landed on the radar of Malaysian social media on 9 Oct for kissing various pieces of pretzel dough while working at an Auntie Anne’s in Midvalley Mall and posting it on her social media.

The post, which sparked public outrage amid concerns about food hygiene, went viral immediately, leading to Alice being terminated by Auntie Anne’s within 24 hours.
Auntie Anne’s quickly released a statement, apologizing for Alice’s actions and assuring customers that the franchise premises where Alice worked was disinfected.
But this wasn’t the last we would see of her.
Alice tried to find work in Cold Stone Creamery, McDonalds, and Nandos
Since then, Alice has sought employment in three more F&B chains across Klang Valley, including Cold Stone Creamery, McDonalds, and Nandos.

Photos posted on her Instagram showed that Alice was apparently then working at the ice cream chain’s outlet in Pavilion KL on 12 Oct, just 3 days after the dough-kissing damsel went viral.
However, the company has since released a statement denying that she was ever hired by them, mentioning that Alice did not disclose her past employment with Auntie Anne’s, and adding that they had cleaned the outlet after she had left.
The statement was met by reactions of skepticism by netizens who found it to be an overreaction, especially the mention of how they disinfected their premises after she had left.
A disagreement with a branch manager at SS2 Mcdonald’s
Next, Alice set her sights on a McDonald’s in SS2, but was apparently terminated within the first 3 hours of her first shift. This was not before she was able to post pictures and videos of her working at the fast food chain on her social media.
The next day, Alice claimed in a separate post that the SS2 branch manager had refused to give her wages for her 3 hours of work, and had even verbally threatened her with sexual assault.
In her post, she said, “The branch manager said if I kept arguing for my 3 hours of wages, he’d find someone to r*pe me!”

The allegations have led to the branch manager filing a police report, and Alice has since walked back the claim in a later post.
McDonald’s Malaysia has not issued a statement over the incident.
Alice was last seen working at a Nando’s
In her latest escapade, Alice was last seen working at a Nando’s in Sunway Putra Mall. In her post, she had uploaded a selfie with another colleague and a photo of the chickens during preparation.
However, within the same day, she was terminated by Nando’s for violating their company policy by publishing photos of confidential areas of the restaurant to her social media channels.
Nando’s official statement reads:
In a very savvy move, Alice has also requested donations from fans of her content on her IG as she continues on her search for the next job.
Who is Alice Chang, really?
While not much is known about Alice Chang beyond her social media persona, she is actually the little sister of another person known for going viral, Adeline Chang, and she has been prescribed diazapam, commonly used to treat anxiety, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and muscle spasms..
Adeline got into the news a few months ago after viral videos of her surfaced showing the young woman attempting to avoid paying for her Grab fare, using tactics such as asking strangers to help her pay the fare and booking rides on her behalf.
After Adeline has been blacklisted by Grab and multiple police reports were made against her, she has now stayed mostly out of the limelight. Meanwhile, her sister Alice is making a name for herself for what appears to be an attempt to get hired and fired from as many jobs as possible within a month.
This tactic of going viral appears to be working, as both sisters have been invited to do social media content for multiple small businesses, such as to model wedding gowns, participate in TikTok livestreams, and collaborate with other influencers. It is speculated that the amount they earn from this exposure is much more than they might earn working a part-time job on minimum wage. Perhaps they’re on to something?
What do you think? Would you cheer Alice on, or do you feel she is going about things the wrong way?
