Meet Thevissha Naidu, a remarkable 3-year-old prodigy who entered the Malaysian Book of Records for naming 51 Asian Countries within 38.11 seconds.
On October 2nd, 2019, Thevissha Naidu entered the world, welcomed by her proud parents, YH DATO Vignesvaran Ramasamy and YH DATIN Shamala Muniandy.
From the start, her exceptional memory set her apart.
“It was when Thevissha turned 3 years old that her talent truly began to shine,” recalls her mother, Shamala.
“We’d be driving down the highway, and I’d start teaching her the names of the planets. Before I knew it, she was rattling them off faster than I could say ‘Mercury’! Now, she’s able to memorize almost 5 to 10 names in a day, depending on her mood.”
“She started memorising lists of names at the age of 3”
With a talent like Thevissha’s, it was only a matter of time before the world took notice.
It wasn’t just her ability to memorize that set her apart; it was the sheer joy and enthusiasm with which she approached each challenge. Like a sponge absorbing water, she eagerly absorbed information and her parents were amazed by her curiosity and determination.
“She’s like a little Einstein,” her father jokes, a proud twinkle in his eye. “Always hungry for more knowledge, always eager to learn. It’s truly a sight to behold.”
But Thevissha is more than just great at remembering things, she’s an all-around amazing kid.
She enjoys writing and drawing all the time, always with a book and pencil nearby to express her imagination. Even during playtime, she chooses her sketchpad over toys, showing her love for being creative.
If that weren’t enough, Thevissha has also taken up swimming and chess. “She embraces each challenge, eager to see where her skills will lead,” says her mother.
Thevissha entered the Malaysian Book of Records at Age 3
Thevissha’s list of accomplishments reads like a fairy tale come to life, showing just how dedicated and hardworking she truly is.
In March 2023, Thevissha was selected as a finalist for the Kids Got Talent Malaysia Competition, despite being much younger than the typical contestants, who are usually between 7 and 17 years old.
Despite her age, she competed in the event held on May 27th and 28th, emerging as the youngest finalist ever.
In April 2023, she solidified her place in the Malaysia Book of Records by achieving the title of Fastest to Name All 51 Asian Countries & Territories by a Pre-schooler, accomplishing this remarkable feat in just 38.11 seconds.
Just a month later, she claimed the title of Memory Athlete Champion Nationwide and secured a spot in the prestigious Kalam World Record as the Youngest to Recite All European Countries, achieving it in a mere 28 seconds and 06 milliseconds.
She is currently enrolled in several different classes, like Mandarin, Chess, Kumon English & Maths, STEM, Swimming, Tamil, and Thirumurai.
Thirumurai is the twelve-volume compendium of songs sung in Tamil Nadu in praise of Shiva. She really enjoys them and puts her heart into every lesson.
“We’re so grateful for Thevissha”
Her parents shared their feelings about their daughter to In Real Life:
“After seven years of marriage and nine miscarriages, she’s our little miracle, bringing us so much happiness. Despite the challenges, she’s our pride, shining not only for us but also for our community and nation,” they proudly declared.
With each passing day, Thevissha Naidu proves that age is but a number and that the sky’s the limit when it comes to chasing your dreams.
As she moves forward into her next chapter, one thing is clear: the world hasn’t seen the last of this extraordinary young talent.
