With the #MeToo movement, women are no longer keeping quiet about issues regarding harassment and assaults. While this is generally a great development within society’s treatment of victims, there are also many cases that can cause such a movement to regress.
Of course, we’ve all heard of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard allegations. Sadly, such a case is not limited to just celebrities and more people are sharing how they are also affected by false allegations!
Adrian is a Malaysian who shared how he was recently a victim of such circumstances. After breaking up with his ex, he found out from his friends that she had spread a rumour about him attempting to sexually assault her.
This is his story!
I was staying at an AirBnb at the time with two other friends. We each had our girlfriend stay with us as well, so all of us were pretty much coupled up when nighttime came.

When I woke up, she had her hands on my face which made me think she was already awake. I started to reach out and touch her chest. She started to talk and moved her hands to pull me on top of her. I stopped to ask if she was okay. She admitted that she wasn’t, so we stopped altogether.

She Said, He Said
I would find out later from a friend that she thought I was trying to rape her. Personally, my mom didn’t raise me that way and I would never touch any woman without their consent.

I wanted to talk about it with her, face to face. Still, she didn’t want to talk about it, nor did she want to talk to me.
Whose Side Are You On?
My friends asked me about it because they wanted to know the story from both sides.
They ended up believing me because they knew who I really am and that I would never do that to anyone.

How could she have been so carefree in calling it an assault, and even made fun of it from the Whatsapp screenshot conversations?
I gave her time and after a few months, we met again and she said that we’re fine now.
We reached that point out of nowhere honestly, we met and hung around with some friends and she ended up telling me that she’s okay with me now.
Despite this, she also suddenly changed her mind and decided we weren’t okay when I couldn’t help her with something, and now, we’re not on talking terms again.
I’ve decided to just block her everywhere now… for my own peace of mind.
I Know Myself & I Know What’s Right
I’ve moved on from all of this.
Ultimately, it was easy to do so because I knew I wasn’t in the wrong. Even my friends were on my side.
I’m just glad that I’ve become this version of myself that could prove as much.
