My home away from home.
Multicultural Malaysia has been my home for a few years, and won’t be for much longer, because I’m putting in a transfer to another Asian country. Not sure where just yet.
My time in Malaysia has been spent in equal parts play and hard work to build my career, but the play part has been simply amazing. That’s in large part due to the women. I’ll come right out and say it: I’m what they call a “Rice Chaser.”
Rice Chaser. Yes. Really.
That basically means I have a strong preference for romancing and seducing Asian and Malaysian women, who are just that easy to pick up. I can hear the snorts of disbelief, feel the glares of disapproval, and perhaps see a very spicy comment section coming soon. I understand why.
Malaysia is a country where more than half the population practices Islam. The other majorities – Chinese, Indians, and Buddhists – are not exactly liberal and sexually liberated either. But this has definitely been my favourite country, as I’ve stayed here the longest so far.
The Average Malaysian Woman
Who are these women? Well, they are mostly those who are from KL (where I work and play), attractive and intelligent. They are degree holders, can hold a conversation, work hard, and struggle to balance their career and their personal lives too. But most importantly, the younger generations are happy to party all night at a moment’s notice.
Malaysian women who play the second oldest game in the world – seduction and conquest – are few, but damn good at it! The challenge for Rice Chasers is to find the ones who would first appreciate, and then reciprocate any advances or flirty approaches.
Half the fun is the thrill of the chase, after all.
What kind of girls do I get?
To my mind, the best kind over time is all kinds of Asian women. I’m not above exploiting the fact that I am a Mat-Salleh. I do take care of my appearance and do my best to be a charming conversationalist, witty, humorous and have the right skills to please.
I am not above using money to leverage the situation in my favour: From the fast company car and luxurious hotel rooms to weekend getaways and gifts – when I think it’s worth it.
To these women, please understand that neither of us is looking for a stable relationship. We’re looking at best for a friends-with-benefits deal or a one-night-stand. That’s what makes it easy.
“They are looking for a good time with a Mat-Salleh.”
How do I do it?
Guilt-free. But that’s not the question. The question is, how do I get the girls? I do what every other guy does: bring my A-Game and “swipe right.” A Lot.
Online dating apps and websites are a huge help because I can just narrow my focus to those women that I am looking for, who are also interested in similar lusts and sexual pleasures.
I have accounts and active profiles on at least half a dozen dating apps and dating sites, and at least as many conversations with interested ladies going on at the same time.
In a country as multicultural and diverse as ours, it’s no surprise that liberal women are in the larger cities and span the social, cultural, and religious spectrums. They all have the same liberal, global outlook and, of course, worldly tastes and that affinity for the Mat-Salleh.
Make no mistake, it’s not as easy as dropping a stack of bills on the counter. You need tact, skill, luck, and, later on, the relevant… skills to keep them coming back for more.
The best place to sow your wild rice – as it were – is going to be in one of the numerous malls in Kuala Lumpur, the greater Klang Valley or Sunway City – during the day.
Be it a meal or a snack that I’m looking for, the subtle approach is key: humble, polite, smart but casual clothing, and starting with a generic topic and staying away from personal details, phone numbers, partners, and sex.
If you’ve got the wit and the social skills, good humour, charismatic compliments, and charming anecdotes – it will let you get the phone number, other details, and perhaps everything else you desire when night comes.
Night Time is Prime Time
The nights, however, belong to the young and the liberal because the old and conservative are at home.
The ladies are out to eat, drink, be merry and party away the stresses of work and the daytime. The clubs get real crowd pullers and dish out amazing ambience and cocktails.
The women want to blow off steam with multiple wild nights a week. Why would I turn that down?
The best piece of advice I can give you is to get a room at a good, quality hotel in the heart of the city. This way, you’ve definitely got somewhere classy to go when it comes time to seal the deal because that’s what the nights are all about.
When the Sun Rises…
More often than not, there’s a very content, and tired Malaysian woman waking up next to me on my day off. I make sure that I am still a charming and polite host the morning after with a room service breakfast spread. None of them actually know where I live.
They can leave as discreetly as they arrived without a walk of shame after breakfast by mingling with the outgoing crowds that very morning.
I’m not interested in a relationship or any kind of attachment because I’m not sure where my job might take me next. After Malaysia for a few years, my next place might be Vietnam or Thailand.
Still, there are plenty of fields of rice to chase out there.
