According to Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja’afarya, the police chief of Petaling Jaya, Lin had left her condo after a disagreement with her father.
“She was discovered missing on May 25 by her father following a misunderstanding,” Shahrulnizam stated.
According to the police, Lin Yu Cheng’s younger sibling managed to contact her on WhatsApp on May 28, three days after her father noticed she was missing.
“On June 28, her father had attempted to contact her but the line was no longer active and it was believed Lin had terminated her mobile service,” he said.

Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam also mentioned that Lin’s father had reported an update on her Instagram story on August 6, showing off her new tattoo. The photo suggested she was in an undisclosed nightclub.
Following this Instagram update, the family lodged a police report – 73 days after Lin was last seen.
The PDRM urges the public to remain vigilant. If you have any information about Lin or her whereabouts, please contact the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-79662222 or visit the nearest police station.
