This reader reached out to us to share about his uncle.
The man is his father’s missing brother who had been missing for over 20 years now.
Have you seen this man?
My uncle’s name is Teoh Eng Hooi. He would now be 58 years old. He is skinny and his arms are slightly bent. He is also deaf and mute. He demonstrates some mentally OKU behaviour.
This isn’t the first time that he went missing.
In 1998, my uncle went missing for a few weeks but was later found in Johor. We live in Penang, so we suspect that he had boarded random buses until he reached there.
He was last seen at our home in Cannon Street Penang, 22 years ago (2000).
He would often sneak out to stroll about the neighbourhood but one day he just didn’t come back and we could not find him.
When he first went missing we tried to advertise his disappearance in the newspaper but we received no news about his whereabouts.
We also checked a few mental hospitals at that time. Still, we found nothing about where he could possibly be now.
We don’t think he could have gone too far as he is deaf and unable to speak. But it has been 20 years so we are unsure.
He didn’t have a passport on him, so unless something remarkable happened, we think he is still in Malaysia.
If you have any information about my uncle, please contact me (Wilson) at +6012-3502553
