This story is about a 16-year-old girl’s experience of being sexually harassed by a pervert in a bookstore in a mall in Penang.
Last Sunday (14 April), a man was caught on camera committing an act of gross indecency in public in a Penang mall.
In the 12-second video, the man was seen exposing and touching his private parts in one of the aisles at the bookstore. To cover up the gross act, he hid it behind the tote bag he was carrying.
Allegedly, the pervert had been watching and following a 16-year-old girl around the reference book section. Noticing his aberrant behavior, the victim took out her phone and took a video of the disgusting act.
“She was at the reference book section looking for reference books, when she noticed a man (white male) constantly looking at her and following her,” according to the source who spoke to IRL.
“When she turned around to have a clearer look at the perpetrator, she was shocked to see that the person had his penis out and he was stroking it. Before escaping the vicinity, she managed to take some videos of the man as evidence,” shared the source, who is a friend of the girl.
The man appeared to be a late 50’s Caucasian male who was wearing a dark blue cap, a light blue shirt, and was carrying a black tote bag. The girl was advised by her friend to report the issue to the Polis Bantuan at the mall.

- Document and Report: If it’s safe to do so, document details of the incident and report it to the appropriate authorities. Provide as much information as possible to aid in their investigation.
