Who made the first move?
Girl: Back then, when we were classmates… Well, he’s considered one of the smartest in class, and I just wanted to compete with him. We were competing with each other for chemistry at the time, but we were also having study groups together.
Boy: She actually confessed that she liked me on the last day of school.Girl: I confessed first, but he indirectly gave me flowers during our batch’s dinner. I say indirectly because he literally got his friend to give it to me for him because he was too shy to do it himself.
Boy: I wasn’t confident enough (laughs).
Girl: At the time, I didn’t really expect him to be the one to give it to me, and I waited for a while to see who did. That’s when he came up to me (laughs).Girl: We’re both 20 years old now, and we’ve been dating for almost 2 years now.
Boy: We knew each other in high school, but we only started dating after SPM ended. We got into matriculation together, and now we’re getting our degrees at different universities.
So who got more As in the end?
Girl: We got the same score, actually. We both got 7As! Our dates usually require us to wait until we’re both free because he’s currently studying in Tanjung Malim and I’m studying around Kuala Lumpur.
What’s the sweetest thing he’s ever done to you so far?
Girl: Actually, the first time he confessed was when he gave me that flower. Oh! And also the Pokki snacks he got for me that were shaped into a heart!
Boy: She actually wanted a different flavor at the time too (laughs), but they only had this. It was for her birthday at the time.
What attracted you to him?
Girl: At first, I was interested in him due to the fact that he was really smart. He was the target for all the teachers to score for their subjects. He was always number one!
Boy: You’re smart too!
Girl: I’m just average, lah. I’m number two.
What attracted you to her?
Boy: She’s really kind. She’s never been stingy, and she’s never been berkira with me. Funny enough, she’s also the one who usually gives in when we fight.
What’s your most memorable moment together so far?
Boy: Oh it was that time we rode a motorcycle together!
Girl: What’s so memorable about that!? (laughs)
Boy: It’s memorable lah because I’ve never ridden that far with a passenger on a motorcycle. We went all the way to Tanjung Malim from Shah Alam—that’s pretty far, especially because we took the wrong turn and went into Puncak Alam. I’d remember that forever.
What are your plans after you finish studying?
Girl: We’d likely find stable jobs first. I don’t think I’ll continue furthering my studies after this because it will take a long time before I finally get to work.
Boy: Yeah, and I’m aiming to be a high school teacher. I’m currently doing my bachelor’s in Science Education.
Girl: And I’m doing my bachelor’s in Food Technology. My work would have something to do with the food industry.
What do you wish for each other or for the relationship?
Girl: I hope we get to stay together for a long long time.
